7/1/2014

Storby Marin (http://storbymarin.no) is a national coalition founded by Oslo, Trondheim, Tromsø and Bergen. The coalition was established in Bergen on the 14th of June 2010 by the former Ministry of Industry, Ansgar Gabrielsen. Over the last 2 years, Stavanger and Bodø have become members.

Stoby Marin is working to improve the framework conditions and the growth of a leading international industry that has science, diversity, longevity and adaptability as pillars. To strengthen marine wealth creation, the coalition will stimulate cooperation between the public and private sector and R&D institutions, as well as national consolidation of these.

At the annual meeting held in Stavanger the 24th of June, the leader of Bergen Marine Research Cluster, Øyvind Paasche, ended a 2-year period as the Chairman of the Board of Storby Marin. Eivind Helland was unanimously elected as the new Chairman. Helland is ordinarily the director of Blue Planet. The Secretariat will be held by Greater Stavanger, and Tanja Hoel from FFV was elected deputy leader.
